Nathan Lane's Gay Lifestyle

“The Birdcage” actor, Nathan Lane(wearing geek glasses), has always been open and honest about his sexual orientation.
As one of the few gay people in the Hollywood industry, Lane’s gay lifestyle has been the subject of scrutiny and discussion as the actor himself has chosen to share his coming out experiences openly. 

From being linked with various celebrities such as Ricky Martin and Victor Garber and other co-stars who have come out as gay, the question, “is Nathan Lane gay” has been asked as often as queries regarding his gay marriage to current boyfriend, producer Devlin Eliot whom he is known to be dating although currently unconfirmed rumors have abounded in context with a break up. Lane and Eliot are regularly featured as a famous gay couple in magazines and tabloids. 

Lane chose to come out about his homosexual orientation after the brutal murder of gay teenager, Mathew Shepard, and has been quoted as having said, “It was like somebody slapped me awake. At this point it's selfish not to do whatever you can... If I do this story and say I'm a gay person, it might make it easier for somebody else." Lane has also been vocal about his mother’s initial lack of acceptance of his orientation when he came out to her.
